For the the first time ever, a rink from northern Ontario was represented at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, recently held in Moose Jaw, Sask.

Sudbury's Tracy Horgan is the skip of that rink and she spoke with CBC Sudbury'sMorning North radio show host Markus Schwabe about her team's experience.

Tracy Horgan and her rink made history at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Curling Championships this past weekend. Her team was the first rink ever from Northern Ontario in this competition. Tracy Horgan was in our studios to talk about the experience.

"We definitely felt pretty comfortable out there," she said. "But we also learned a lot ... we hope to get back some time and make the playoffs."

Coming away with a 6-5 record from the Scotties was an accomplishment in itself, Horgan said. But the fact they were so close to winning leftthe team wanting just that little bit more.

"To be so close from winning that last game kind of stung a little bit, but we learned from it."

Next year the Horgan rink will have a berth at the Scotties, thanks to their standings at this year's tournament.

The team is looking forward the annual championship.

"You're treated so well at the Scotties," Horgan said. "Playing at the venue was amazing."
