Swings named in honour of two fallen miners from Sudbury

The City of Greater Sudbury is installing new swings in memory of two miners who died on the job.

The City of Greater Sudbury is installing newswings in memory of two miners who died on the job.

JordanFramand JasonChenierwere killed at Vale'sStobieMine in 2011.

Vale paid a $1 million fine to the city for the tragedy.

City council faced public pressure todo something special with the money.

After consulting with the victims' families, the city has decided to purchase two swings for $26 thousand.

The swing for Fram will be placed inRidecrestPark in New Sudbury, while a swing named after Chenier will be put in JeanneD'ArcplaygoundinHanmer.
