The Parkside Centre offers a variety of activities, but not everyone can make it to the downtown location.

Now, a new satellite location is opening in Valley East in Greater Sudbury.

We had been hearing for years about the demand for a centre somewhere in the valley, John Richer, manager of The Parkside Centre said.

He said it's located in an old school thats been converted into a community centre. The building is owned by a church thats allowing the centre to rent some of its space.

Richer said so far, the feedback has been positive.

Everybody thinks its a great idea, he said.

The centre offers a variety of activities for older adults, including crafts, computer classes and health and wellness seminars.
