Sudbury plays host to Hollywood actors

An action thriller movie starring Forest Whitaker, Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria began filming in downtown Sudbury this week and will continue into next week.

An action thriller movie starring Forest Whitaker, Andy Garcia and Eva Longoriabegan filming in downtown Sudbury this week and will continue into next week.

Sections of Elm Street will be closed completely or reduced to one lane throughout next weekend to film The Truth.

"There's a sniper on the rooftops and car crashes and gunfire," said film producer Bill Marks.

"Its a big action sequence. It'll be a really nice adventure that day."

He said people in the downtown may also hear gunfire and breaking glass.

Marks said filming has also taken place at Science North and on Ramsey Lake Road.

According to the websiteInternet Movie Database,filming will alsotake placein the Dominican Republic. Garcia plays an ex-CIA-operative-turned-political talk show host. Hes hired by a corporate whistleblower to expose her companys cover-up of a massacre in a South American village.
