Sudbury poet Roger Nash releases new book, 'Zigzags', ahead of Culture Days

With his 18th book, "Zigzags", Greater Sudbury poet Roger Nash pivots and ponders on themes of love, the environment and chance.

As a part of Ontario's Culture Days celebrations, Sudbuy poet Roger Nash will be on-hand Oct. 1 at the main branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library to sign copies of his new poetry book, "Zigzags". (Roger Corriveau/CBC )

With his 18th book, "Zigzags,"Greater Sudbury poet Roger Nash pivots and ponders on themes of love, the environment and chance.

"I'm amazed by the role that accident, opportunity and the surprising play in life," saidNash,GreaterSudbury'sfirst poet laureate and professor emeritus inphilosophyat Laurentian University.

"I think a lot of us in our daydreaming moments make plans that we're going to go straight ahead, up a ladder, or to the next town," he continued.

"But life gives us opportunities to sidetrack ourselves, or it puts obstacles in our way, and we go the way we can and the way we do."

Nash will be officially launching Zigzagsandsigning books as a part of Culture Days on Sat., Oct. 1 at the main branch of theGreater Sudbury Public Library.
