Sunwing Vacations to offer direct flights from Sudbury to Punta Cana

Sunwing Vacations will be offering direct flights from Sudbury to Punta Cana, a popular resort destination in the Dominican Republic, starting just before Christmas.

The discount carrier has offered flights to other destinations from Sudbury for a number of years

"Travellers from the Greater Sudbury community have embraced Sunwing's sun destination service over the last 10 years and will be delighted to have the opportunity to connect to Punta Cana this upcoming winter," said Terra Glabb, director of business development for the Greater Sudbury Airport in a release.

According toSunwing Vacations, direct flights from Sudbury to Punta Canawill go onThursdays beginning Dec.22.
