CAW reaches deal with Sudbury's Xstrata

A tentative deal has been reached between unionized Xstrata workers and the company.

The old agreement expired at midnight on Thursday.

The president of CAW Mine Mill local 598, Richard Paquin, said two meetings will be held Fridauy to give workers more information and the opportunity to vote on the tentative deal.

The bargaining committee has recommended members vote in favour of the agreement.

The meetings will happen at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Dowling Community Centre.

Paquin said he feels both parties are happy with the proposed deal.
