Bus service complaints up after Northlander train cancellation

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane says he's received at least 15 phone calls from constituents who had problems taking the Ontario Northland bus this past weekend.

Standing room only, no connections among complaints logged by MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane said he's received at least 15 phone calls from constituents who had problems taking the Ontario Northland bus this past weekend.

The week before was the last run of the Northlander train between Toronto and Cochrane, and John Vanthof said he anticipated there would be problems with the train being cancelled.

"The bus from Temagami to North Bay was standing room only," he said.

"The bus from Cobalt leaves at one in the afternoon but the enhanced bus service from North Bay leaves at noon so basically, there was no connection."

Vanthof said this is the first time he's received complaints about bus service in the northeast.
