Warm November weekend breaks 5 Sask. weather records

November has brought record-breaking temperatures to some Saskatchewan communities.

Five historical high temperature records were broken around the province Saturday, according to Environment Canada, including records in Saskatoon and North Battleford dating back more than 60 years.

  • Saskatoon reached 19 C, breaking the 1949 record of 18.9 C.
  • North Battleford reached19 C, breaking its1949 record of18.9 C.
  • Leader reached 22.4C, breaking the 1949 record of21 C.
  • Key Lake reached9 C, breaking the 1980 record of4 C.
  • Collins Bay reached9 C, breaking the 2010 record of7 C.

Regina's temperature of 20 C was a few degrees shy of its 1975 record of 23.3 C.

Environment Canada says Moose Jaw could break its temperature record Sunday. The forecast high of 18 C would beat its 1997 record of 16 C.
