Saskatoon police receive 11 per cent pay increase

Police in Saskatoon are now taking home a little extra on their paychecks. The Saskatoon Police Association has signed a collective agreement with the City of Saskatoon.

The agreement will see an 11 per cent increase until the end of 2016.

Police will also receive a market adjustment increase of half a per cent from 2014 and two percent from 2015.

Saskatoon police currently make up roughly 20 per cent of the city budget.

In December, council agreed to pay for four new patrol officers on the force.
