Cop SUV disabled in Saskatoon police chase, 2 arrested

Police are piecing together the sequence of events in a chase that ended with two in custody and a disabled police SUV.

Police are piecing together the sequence of events that left two in custody and disabled a police SUV.

Itstarted just before5 a.m. CST when officers spotted a truck with a licence plate that didn't match the vehicle.

They gave chase and used a spike belt to try tostopthe truck at Avenue T Southand 19th Street. Apolice SUV that was close behind ran over the disabling device.

Two people were taken into custody, a 22-year-old woman and 25-year-old man.

They were arrested trying to run away from the scene.

Police said later that the truck had been reported stolen.

No one was injured.

The truck ended up in a backyard. (CBC)
