Saskatoon man charged in Bosse murder still hunting for lawyer

The search to find a lawyer for accused murderer Douglas Hales of Saskatoon continues.

Hales, 35, is charged with first degree-murderin the death ofUniversity of Saskatchewan student Daleen Bosse. She went missing on May 18, 2004 and was last seen at a club where Hales worked as a bouncer.

Hales was arrested and charged in August 2008 after Bosse's burnt remains were found in the bush north of Saskatoon.

Since then, Hales has dismissed six lawyers and had his trial date postponed twice.

He appeared in Court of Queen's Bench in SaskatoonFriday for an update on his legal counsel. Justice Gerald Allbright had agreed to appoint a Regina lawyer as his latest counsel that's lawyer number seven but Court Services is still negotiating terms.

Justice Allbright agreed to set the matter back until June.

At the same time, the court has also already tenatively blockedofffour weeks for the trial, starting February 4, 2014 in Saskatoon.

"Take it as a given those are my target dates," Justice Allbright said.

The trial had been set to start this Monday.
