Impaired driver charged for hitting man after Saskatoon stabbing

Saskatoon police were called to a chaotic scene at a restaurant drive-thru in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood Wednesdaynight.

Just after 7:30 p.m. CST, police say two men walked up to a vehicle stopped at a restaurant on the 2200 block of 22nd Street W.

Police say the men and an occupant of the vehicle exchanged words. The 19-year-old passenger of the vehicle was then stabbed in the face.

The 34-year-old femaledriver sped off, but circled backand then tried to run over the attackers, hitting one of them.

Police say they arrived as the driver was taking another run at the two men.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving. She refused to take a breath test.

Meanwhile, the stabbing victim refused to talk to police.

The 21-year-old man hit by the car was examined by MD Ambulance personnel and released at the scene.

The driver has been charged with impaired driving, refusing a breath test and two counts of assault with a weapon. She will appear in court today.
