Results of CBC's Saskatchewan Roughriders free agent survey

Saskatchewan Roughriders fans took on the role of general manager and made some difficult decisions.

Rider fans voted to sign backup quarterbacks, Weston Dressler, S.J. Green but not Kevin Glenn

Saskatchewan Roughriders fans answered the question, "What do you expect from the Riders this off-season?"

If the fans were in charge of the Saskatchewan Roughriders' off-season, re-signing Weston Dressler would be the Number onepriority.

It's probably not a surprise fans want Dressler back in Green and White, but there are some interesting results in CBC's free agent survey.

On Thursday, fans got their wish to see defensive lineman Ricky Foley return as he re-signed with the team.

The team also released upcoming free agents Tim Cronk, Trevor Guyton, Hilee Taylor, and Carlos Thomas. According to CBC's survey, Guyton was the most coveted player by fans, but none of the four players released cracked the top 10.

The 2015 CFL free agency period starts on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. CST.

When it comes to positional priorities, Rider fans haven't forgotten the team's 2-7 record without quarterback Darian Durant. When asked, 'Which position should be the top priority?' 28 per cent of fans said, "Quarterback."

"I expect them to find a bonafide #2 QB," one fan wrote, echoing the majority of comments. But when itcomesto finding a backup quarterback, 60 per cent of fans said "No"to signing Kevin Glenn.

While many fans are more concerned with keeping players like Dressler and Tyron Brackenridge, some are keen on luring others to Saskatchewan. Montreal receiver S.J. Green is the most coveted free agent, followed by Calgary offensive lineman Brett Jones, and Hamilton receiver/returner Brandon Banks.

In total, 837 people completed the CBC survey. Here are the results:
