Moose Jaw police are investigating after a man was killed by Saskatchewan RCMP.

On Tuesday, officers from the Wadena detachment were called to a home on the Fishing Lake First Nation at roughly 1:23 p.m. There, someone had reported a man, armed with a knife, causing a disturbance outside of their home.

Two officers from the Wadena detachment responded. Shortly after officers arrived on scene, at least one of the officers fired their weapon and the man was injured as a result.

Police officers called for assistance and performed first aid on the man until paramedics from the Wadena Emergency Medical Service arrived on scene.

Additional RCMP officers also arrived to help secure the scene and assist paramedics with the injured man. RCMP say he died on scene.
