Walking tour gets a taste of Saskatoon's culinary scene

Beginning today, food tours of Saskatoon are ready to showcase all the city's culinary scene has to offer.

It's an activity you can do in bigger cities like Toronto or New York. But starting today, food tours of Saskatoon are ready to showcase all the city's culinary scene has to offer.

"We'll visit five restaurants in total," explained MarcyAtchison, tour guide for Taste-It Food Tours.

She said the three-hour tour of tasters and drinksbeginsat the DeltaBessboroughHotelat 5 p.m. CSTevery Tuesday. Thenext stops includeCut Casual Steak & Tap, The Rook & Raven Puband Flint Saloon. The tour thenfinishes off at Bon Temps Cafe with a Louisiana dessert.

"The general manager or the chef at each place will be explaining their dish for the evening and give a little bit of information and history of the restaurant itself,"Atchisonadded.

But it's not all about food.Atchisonsaid the walking tour will also take in Saskatoon'smany historic sites.

"As we travel along,I will be giving some history of Saskatoon and some interesting information about some of the buildings that we will actually be visiting," she said.

Dinner tourscost $99 per person. The group also offers a "Broadway Luncheon" tour every Thursday for $85.
