Female human remains found: Saskatoon police

Saskatoon police say the remains of a woman have been found, although the location has not been revealed.

Her identity has not been released, more details to come on Friday

Saskatoon police say the remains of a female have been found. Neitherthe identity of the victim nor thelocation of the remains havebeen revealed.

The police issued a release with few details. It said the Saskatoon police received information on Nov. 10 which led to the discovery of the remains.

The officer of the Chief Coroner, forensic anthropologist Ernie Walker, the RCMPcold case major crime unit,the Corman Park Police Service, the SPS major crime unit and the missing persons unit were involved in the excavation.

The remains were recovered onNov.14. An autopsy has been conducted, and both the major crime unit and the missingpersons unit have been working to"determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death."

The police said they did not notify the public so they could continue their investigation.

The female'sidentitywasconfirmed by DNA testing but hername will not be released at least until the family has been notified.

The police will have more details on Friday.
