'I can't wait for spring': Saskatoon residents endure frigid temperatures

Residents in Saskatchewan are feeling the frigid temperatures this week.

On Thursday, Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning for parts of northern and central Saskatchewan.

According to the weather agency, areas thatinclude Fond-du-Lac, Saskatoon, Lloydminsterand Yorkton can expect a prolonged period of very cold wind chills with values near -40 C.

The chill is expected to last through to Friday.

"I've got foam up in a bunch of places," said Saskatoon's Ryan Jones.

Out of necessity, Jones has been living in his camper van for the past two months. He didn't want to disclose toCBC why he chose to opt out of other shelter options.

He said when it gets to be this cold, he stays curled up under his blankets for most of the day to keep warm.

"I can't wait for spring."
