Six kilograms of fentanyl seized in Regina, police say

A 20-year-old man has been charged with trafficking six kilograms of fentanyl in Regina, according to Regina Police.

A 20-year-old man has been charged after police found six kilograms of fentanyl in Regina, according to Regina Police.

The bust was part of a drug trafficking investigation by the Regina Drug Unit and ended with the seizure of illicit drugs and around $14,000 in cash, according to a Monday release from the Regina Police Service.

On Thursday, police searched a vehicle andfound two ounces of fentanyl, two ounces of meth, half an ounce of cocaine, and cash.

That led to a search warrant for a short-term rental residence at the corner of Mutrie Crescent and Kaufman Avenue in the southeastern part of the city.

Police seized six kilograms of fentanyl, five kilograms of meth, one kilogram of cocaine, and around $14,000 in cash at the residence.

A 20-year-old man from India was charged withpossession of property owned by crime over $5,000 as well asthree counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared in provincial court on Friday.
