3 women charged over shooting of Regina man

Three women have been charged in connection with a shooting in Regina May 5 that left a man with a serious injury. One of the accused, 18, is facing a charge of attempted murder.

A man was shot outside a business on Dewdney Avenue in Regina May 5. Police have a charged an 18-year-old woman with attempted murder. Two other women are also facing charges in the case. (CBC)

Three women have been charged in connection with a shooting in Regina May 5 that left a man with a serious injury.

Police said one of the accused an 18-year-old is facing a charge of attempted murder. The two other women, both 22, are facing charges of being "a party to the offence" of discharging a firearm with intent to injure.

According to police, the man was shot on the street after having just left a business on the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue, shortly after 8 p.m. CST. Police said the gunfire came from a nearby, stationary, vehicle that fled the scene.

The 21-year-old victim made his way to hospital for emergency treatment. Police were quickly alerted and they began their investigation.

The three accused appeared in court in Regina Thursday morning.

Police said they are from Regina.
