Warmer winter leading to lower bills: SaskEnergy

Saskatchewan's energy corporation says the season's warmer-than-average weather has led to lower bills.

SaskEnergy says bills have been $40 to $50 cheaper this season, according to Dave Burdeniuk, director of government and media relations at SaskEnergy.The only exception was January, where usage was about the same as other years.

"Three of the four main winter months have been warmer, so customers are saving about 7 per cent.They've used about 7 per cent less natural gas than they would in a typical winter," said Burdeniuk.

Hesaid the organizationtries to offer lower rates when it can, and added thatit's a good thing when the weather can kick in to help lower costs.
