Tornado warnings swirl through southeast near Yorkton, Sask.

Environment Canada is warning residents in several southern Saskatchewan communities about the possibility of a tornado.

Environment Canada issued a number of tornado warnings tosoutheast Saskatchewan communitiesMonday afternoon. After starting near Yorkton, the worrisome weather made its way towards the Manitoba border.

A tornado warning was issued for the RM of Saltcoats by the weather agency at 3:14 p.m. CST. The town ofSaltcoatsis located about 30 kilometres southeast of Yorkton.

That warning was ended about 45 minutes later, butwas extendedto the nearbyRMof Churchbridge at 3:41 p.m.

Around the same time, a severe thunderstorm warning in the RM ofLangenburg was upgraded to a tornado warning.

All of the warnings ended around 5 p.m.

Environment Canada said there is still thepossibility for "damaging winds, large hail, and locally intense rainfall" into Monday evening.
