Suspect in machete attack arrested, charged

The alleged attacker who used a machete to injurea Cathedral-area man early Sunday morning has been arrested, Regina police confirmed on Tuesday.

Daniel Larose, 20, is believed to be the man who, alongwith a group of other people, carried out the attack on the 25-year-old victim.

Police said he was arrested without incident on Tuesday Aug. 11, at approximately 1:00 a.m. CST.

After the police investigated the original event, they reported that Larose and the victim knew each other, noting Larose's attack on the victim was a targeted one.

The police service said it's still investigating the roles of the other individuals who were at the scene.

Larose is charged with aggravated assault, break enter & commit theft, and breach of probation.
