Shackled, handcuffed prisoner escapes from jail

Despite being shackled and handcuffed, a prisoner at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre managed to escape and was on the loose in the city Tuesday night.

Despite being shackled and handcuffed, a prisoner at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre managed to escape and was on the loose in the city Tuesday night.

Cory Bradley Keenatch was being held at the jail on charges of attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault.

Shortly after 10 p.m., he was able to slip off his cuffs and one of his leg shackles. Then he escaped from the jail.

Saskatoon city police cordoned off a large area around the jail and used dog teams to track him.

Police found him in a vehicle parked at a business in the north end of town at around 11:20 p.m. and took him back into custody.

He was scheduled to to appear in court Wednesday charged with escaping from lawful custody.
