Sask. Party Leader attended event at site of possible COVID-19 exposures

The Sask. Party said Leader Scott Moe and other members are showing no symptoms after hosting an event at a location flagged by the Saskatchewan Health Authority as the site of possible COVID-19 exposures.

Last Saturday Moe and other Sask. Party candidates attended an event at Econo Lumber in Prince Albert.

The location was cited as one of many possible exposure locations by the health authority on Sunday.

"The business owner has confirmed that no attendees or participants in the announcement had contact with the individual that was the source of the potential exposure alert, nor were they in the same area of the individual," the Sask. Party statement said.

"During the announcement, a number of precautionary measures were in place including physical distancing, mask usageand hand sanitization."

The statement said Sask. Party members, including Moe, would self-monitor for 14 days.

If any of the individuals begin to experience symptoms, they would immediately self-isolate and seek testing.

7 communities listed in alert

A news release issued on Sunday by the Saskatchewan Health Authority flagged locations in seven communities as sites of possible COVID-19 exposures, including the store where Moe and Sask. Party members spoke.

Communities listed include Esterhazy, La Ronge, Prince Albert, Regina, Shellbrook, Spy Hill and Yorkton.

Esterhazy:

• Oct. 9: Galaxy Restaurant, 732 Park Avenuefrom 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
• Oct. 9: Chicken Chef, 300 Kennedy Drive from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

La Ronge:

Those who attended these locations are asked to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Should symptoms present themselves, individuals were asked to self-isolate and contact the 811 health line to arrange testing.
