Eunice Wudrich, 45, has been charged with endangering the life of a child and criminal negligence causing death.

Wudrich had been responsible for 22-month-old Evander Daniels in the Aberdeen area north of Saskatoon when he died June 8.

He was found partially submerged in a bathtub at a farm residence. He died in a Saskatoon hospital.

According to acoroner's report, Evander died from drowning and had burns on his body.

Evander's father, Chris Martell, who had heard earlier this week about the charges, said he's relieved.

"So now I know, some light on what happened to my son and his death, because I never heard a phone call or a knock on the door since the news of his death," Martell said. "It's been a couple of months and some restless nights and I've been trying to cope with this every day."

Wudrich is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on the charges on Sept. 9.

The RCMP said there were four other foster children in the home at the time of the Evander's death. The children wereimmediatelyremoved from the residence.
