Saskatoon's Remai Modern reviews John Gormley's conduct

Artists have called upon Saskatoon's city council to remove him from the board.

Saskatoon's Remai Modernis reviewing whether radio personality John Gormley has been in violation of the gallery board's code of conductsays AlainGaucher,the organization's president and chair.

Gormley sits on the board of the Remai Modern Art Gallery. In November, he posted a controversial message on Twitter in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris. Since then, artists have called upon Saskatoon's city council to remove him from the board.

In a mediarelease issued Friday,Gaucher said an independent third party will conduct the review. The board expects to review the report at its February meeting.
Radio host John Gormley has since deleted this tweet and apologized on air for his comments. (Twitter)

"In the meantime, Remai Modern's board members and staff continue to oversee the development of the direction-setting gallery, which will be a point of pride for Saskatoon and Saskatchewan, and a destination for visitors from across Canada and around the world," Gaucher said in therelease.
