Regina brewery crafts pink beer for breast health

Rebellion Brewing announced it's selling a pink beer for the month and will be donating part of its sales to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.

A local beer maker is hoping patrons like their brew a rosy shade of pink.

Rebellion Brewing in Regina launched a blushing ale Thursday, which was coloured using more than 13 kg of hibiscus flowers.

The beer makers say it was made to support people affected by breast cancer and launched as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

From each pint or growler sold, a dollar will go towards the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency's breast cancer screening program.

"Cancer has affected every single one of us. We have close friends who are fighting cancer rightnow and this is our way of supporting them and showing we've got their back," said Rebellion Brewmaster and President Jamie Singer.

Aside from the unique colour of the ale, beer lovers can expect a floral aroma and a tart finish.
