Question period cancelled following death of MLA

Members of the Saskatchewan Legislature voted to unanimously cancel the final question period of the session, following the death of MLA Roger Parent.

Members of Saskatchewan's Legislative Assembly voted to unanimously cancel the final question period of the session, following the death of MLA Roger Parent.

Question period was scheduled for its regular Wednesday afternoon time but both the government and the Opposition decided not to sit.

The government only notified the public of Parent's cancer diagnosis on Tuesday.

Parent, 63, hadbeen an MLA since 2011 and represented residents of Saskatoon Meewasin.
