Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall's popularity is high with his ratings over time staying just about as flat as the province he represents.

According to the latest report from the Angus Reid Institute, Wall's 58 per cent approval rating is in its usual spot as highest of all provincial premiers.

Ontario's Kathleen Wynne, at 16 per cent, has Canada's lowest rating among residents of her province.

Angus Reid says Wall's approval is statistically unchanged from the last quarter, when he was at 57 per cent.

Angus Reid notes that Wall has been outspoken recently in his opposition to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's carbon pricing plan.

At home, he's also been in a fierce war of words with the NDP over the Global Transportation Hub land deal. However, neither of those issues has dislodged him from his perch as Angus Reid's most popular premier.

(Apoll released by a different companyin October had Wall in the No. 3 position.)

The latest Angus Reidrating sky-high compared to most premiers is actually a bit low for Wall when the past two years are considered.

For most of that time, his approval rating has been in the 60s.

Other premiers have tended to go through ups and downs, sometimes dramatic ones. Compared to them, Wall's popularity has been relatively stable.

The results were based on an online survey of 5,300 Canadian adults Dec. 512.

The data was donated by a company, MARU/VCR&C, Angus Reid said.
