They are stories that are shocking, maddening, and often devastating.

Right now, there are 33 cases of unsolved missing and murdered indigenous women in Saskatchewan.The RCMP believes there are 1,200 cases across the country. Many of them are also unsolved.

One of the earliest cases of a womanfromthis province who isstill missingis a woman named Margaret Blackbird, whodisappeared in 1951.Her son, Billy Blackbird, still has no idea what happened to her.

"I'm in total darkness here," he said. "I just don't know anything about it."

It's a common theme, and since 1951, thousands of families like Blackbird'shave been left to wonder what happened to a loved one, a mother, sister, daughter or aunt.
