NDP pledges to twin highway

The NDP says it will twin Highway 10 between Balgonie and Yorkton if it wins the provincial election.

The NDP says it will twin Highway 10 between Balgonie and Yorkton if it wins the provincial election.

New Democrat Leader Dwain Lingenfelter made the pledge in Yorkton Monday morning.

Twinning a160-kilometre section of Highway 10, plus an interchange to connect it to the Trans-Canada Highway, will cost $228 million over four years, the NDP says in its platform.

Around the same time that Lingenfelter was making the highway-twinning announcement, Saskatchewan Party Leader Brad Wallwas talking about child care in Emerald Park, east of Regina.

Wall pledged that if re-elected, his government will create 2,000 new licenced child care spaces.

The election is Nov. 7.
