Mounties foil school computer heist

The RCMP have charged four men after 10 brand new computers were stolen from a Balgonie, Sask., high school last week.

The computers had just been shipped to Greenall High School and were supposed to be installed soon.

However, sometime before 11 p.m. Friday, police got a call that several people were at the school loading boxes into a truck.

While on their way to the school, officers spotted a truck and had the driver pull over. They arrested a 30-year-old man from Pilot Butte and a 21-year-old man from Balgonie and recovered 10 computers and 10 monitors.

Two other men, ages 25 and 29, both from Balgonie, were arrested later. The four men will appear in court on April 14 and 15.

Meanwhile, police still looking for two other computers, which they described as high-end Macs that are grey in colour with 24-inch LED screens. They were reported stolen following an earlier break-in at the school either on Thursday night or Friday morning.

Police believe these two computers were quickly sold. They're asking for the public's help in finding them.
