More heavy rainfall warnings in effect across Saskatchewan

A wide band of the province is under heavy rainfall warnings again today as some communities continue to struggle with excess water.

Last night, a local state of emergency was declared in the town of Carrot River after streets flooded and basements filled with water.

Nearby Arborfield followed suit, and also ordered a partialevacuation of its seniors care facility.

The declarationshelpa community proceed with emergency services, including evacuations if required.

Today's warning zone spreads from the southwest to the northeast, Environment Canada says.

It's all thanks to a slow-moving low pressure system that brought 50 to 75 millimetres of rain to certain areas Monday.

The federal weather agencysays there could be another 10 to 25 mm today in some parts of the south.

Regina is not included in the warning zone, but Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and Prince Albert are.

Earlier in the week, Estevan, Yorkton, Humboldt, Lloydminster and other communities were scrambling to deal with floodwaters after torrential rains.
