A double-concert night in Saskatoon is providing the answer to the question: "How do you get 15,000 people to leave an arena so another 15,000 people can get in?"

Fans of country music star Garth Brooks, who is performing twice on Friday night (and repeating that on Saturday) get to experience the mass movement exercise first-hand.

The show, at Saskatoon's SaskTel Centre, has captured the attention of the city including its transit and traffic experts.

While there is some on-site parking, many fans will be using shuttle bus services (some 60 buses will be running during the shows) to get them to and from the venue.

The arena created designated parking lots for the 10:30 p.m. CST shows on Friday and Saturday, to reduce congestion as people enter and leave the lots. The facility also acquired extra temporary parking in the area.

Around 9:30 p.m. CSTFriday night, traffic in the area was described as "very hectic, but moving" although police noted that Highway 16 was backed up and people were advised to use Idylwyld Drive to get to the second show.

Businesses in the area were also keeping a watch on their parking lots to ensure concert-goers didn't take advantage of their spaces.

"We've had a few people try to park in here," said Sally Ifill, general manager ofComfort Suites. "But we're not going to give any space out until our guests have spaces."

She said that if they have space they will let it be used for a fee of $10.
