Fewer, but better, tennis courts proposed for Regina

Officials in Regina are serving up a plan to cut the number of tennis courts maintained by the city so it can properly tend to those that remain.

Officials in Regina are serving up a plan to cut the number of tennis courts maintained by the city so it can properly tend to those that remain.

Currently there are 55 court surfaces in the city. Officials are suggesting reducing that number to about 35.

Chris Holden, from the city's community services department, says feedback on the plan has been positive.

"So far people seem supportive of the fact that fewer and ... better quality, would be better than the current situation that we have," Holden said.

Consultations on the tennis court plan are taking place at an open house and using an on-line survey.
