10 people taken to hospital after collision between tractor-trailer and bus

Ten people were taken to hospital after a collision between a tractor-trailer hauling grain and a bus carrying oilfield workers at the northwest edge of Kerrobert, Sask., on Friday evening.

Ten people were taken to hospital after a collision betweenatractor-trailer hauling grainand a bus carrying oilfield workers,at the northwest edge of Kerrobert, Sask., Friday evening.

The collision occurred a littleafter 5 p.m. CT at the intersections of Highway 21, 31 and 51, according to RCMP.

Sixteen people were in the bus at the time of the collision, RCMPsaid.

RCMPoriginally had indicated that twopeople were taken to hospital for treatment withas yet undisclosed injuries, while others were treated at the scene of the crash for minor injuries. They later sent out a statement saying that 10 were taken to Kerrobert's hospital for treatment.

Of those 10, three had to be transported to Saskatoon for further treatment, with two taken by STARS and one transported by ambulance.There is still no official word on the cause of the collision or the seriousness of the injuries.

RCMPsaid the intersection will be closed for several hours, while a collision analyst examinesthe scene.

Kerrobert is located about 180kilometres west of Saskatoon.
