CBC Saskatchewanhas won a handful of industry awards.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awards recognizethe best ofdigital and broadcast journalism. The 2024 Prairie Regional Awards of Excellence were announced Tuesday.

Multiplatform - Continuing Coverage - Small/Medium Market

CBC Saskatchewan's Bonnie Allen won for the multi-platform featureFaces of Fentanyl: Overdose Crisis. The story goesbeyond statistics and stereotypes to sharethe faces and names of some of the1,200 people who have died from suspected or confirmed drug overdoses in Saskatchewan since the beginning of 2020.

Multiplatform - Enterprise Journalism - Small/Medium Market

CBC Saskatoon's Jason Warickand Don Somerswon for the feature A Good Death. The story follows Saskatoon artist Jeanette Lodoen as she seeks a medically-assisted death. She and her family granted CBC News unrestricted access to the weeks before, during and after her death.

Digital - Excellence in Data Storytelling

Nick Frewwon for The Sky-high Price of Dirt. The digital project examined the skyrocketing prices for Saskatchewanfarm real estate and how farmers are dealing with the unprecedented prices.

Digital - Feature News - Small/Medium Market

The CBC team behind The Trading Post won for the profile of the owner of Robertson Trading Ltd., the iconic general store and fur trading post in La Ronge, Sask. The feature was put together byKendall Latimer, Don Somers, Sean Trembath and Steven Silcox.
