Amid icy, misty conditions car crashes into snowplow near Regina

Amid icy and foggy conditions, a car hit the back of a snowplow east of Regina Friday morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. CST between Balgonie and White City.

No one was injured.

The government said because it was icy, the snowplow operator was going about 40 kilometres per hour on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Visibility was about 400 metres in Regina on Friday morning, but in other parts of Saskatchewan visibility will be zero, Environment Canada says. (CBC)

Large sections of southern and central Saskatchewan werecovered with fog this morning.

Environment Canada issued advisoriesfor numerous communities, including Regina and Saskatoon.

The visibility in those two cities was about 400 metres before the sun came up.

In other areas the fog is going to be much thicker, the weather office says.
