4 people now facing drug charges over Regina house explosion

Police in Regina say a fourth person is facing drug charges in relation to an explosion and fire in February at a home on Cooper Crescent.

Police say accused were involved in illegal drug activities

Police in Regina say a fourth person is facing drug charges in relation to an explosion and fire in February at a home on Cooper Crescent.

Police announced Friday that they had arrested and charged the fourth person, a 35-year-old man from Regina. He is set to make his first court appearance on charges relating to possession of marijuana and production of cannabis resin.

The explosion and house fire took place in a home on the 100 block of Cooper Cr. on Feb 24.

When police arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and there was a great deal of smoke.

Three adults were taken to hospital, two with what were described as very serious injuries.

While police have not made direct connections between the people injured and the people facing charges, the ages of those hurt and those facing charges suggest that the three people who were in the house at the time of the explosion and needed medical care are now before the courts.

In addition to the 35-year-old man charged in the case, police have charged two other men, aged 29 and 19. They have also charged a 58-year-old woman.

All four have a variety of upcoming dates to appear in court on their charges.

All of the accused are facing drug-related charges.
