3 cold air science experiments you can try at home

How cold is it?

Cold enough for CBC News reporter Adam Hunter to go to the Saskatchewan Science Centre to learn more about the weather with three experiments anyone can perform. The tests were done Wednesday, when it was -27 C:

1. The blubber test: What does it feel like to be surrounded by a protective layer of blubber, like a whale or a seal? The experiment uses lard packed in a mitt to test that out.
2. The hot water into cold air test: What happens when very hot water is tossed into very cold air?
3. The blowing bubbles test: Soapy water blown through a ring produces bubbles, but what will happen to them in the cold air?
