Police charge Richard Joseph Arsenault with 'screen cutter' series of break and enters

A 38-year-old Summerside man has been charged with a string of break and enters in Charlottetown, Stratford, Cornwall and other Island communities. Richard Joseph Arsenault was brought before a justice of the peace in P.E.I. Provincial Court Tuesday afternoon.

Investigation involved series of break and enters in Charlottetown and elsewhere

A 38-year-old Summerside man has been charged with a string of break and enters in Charlottetown, Stratford, Cornwall and other P.E.I. communities.

Richard Joseph Arsenault was brought before a justice of the peace in P.E.I. Provincial Court Tuesday afternoon.

He has been charged with 10 counts related to the break and enters.

Most recent break-in was Monday night

Police say the break-ins occurred between 2014 and 2016, with the most recent incident happening Monday night.

Arsenaultagreed to stay in custody until his next court appearance on Thursday morning.

The P.E.I.RCMP and Charlottetown Police Services were involved in the so-called 'screencutter' investigation.

Police previously stated the suspect would cut the screen on a window to enter a home.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more information willbe provided at a news conference at later date.
