Police cars collide while responding to accident

Two police cars collided while responding to another accident in Queens County, P.E.I., on Saturday, RCMP say.

Officers sustain non-life-threatening injuries; man, woman in another accident also taken to hospital

Two police cars collided while responding to another accident in Queens County, P.E.I., on Saturday, RCMP say.

Shortly after11a.m,, RCMP were called to a two-vehicle collision in Lake Verde.

Five people a man, woman and three youths were in one vehicle, police said. The man and woman were taken to hospital with what police believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Three people in the second vehicle were not injured.

Roads slushy, slippery

While responding to the crash, two police cars struck each other. Two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Road conditions at the time were slushy and slippery.

Route 3 at Monaghan Road between Vernon River and Millviewwas closed to allow police to investigate. An RCMP collision analyst is assisting in the investigation.
