In a news release, RCMP saidthe lawnsuffered damage from "what appears to be ATVs."

The damage occurred between 8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said in the release.

Fixing the damage is going to becostlyand needs to be done quickly, said Wendy McIsaac, the town's CAO.

"I think it's safe to say that it's going to be in the thousands of dollars for sure to fix," she said.

"Because of the time of the year, the things that we need to do, we need to do them fairly quickly because the snow will come and if we leave deep ruts there's the potential for just an even more dire situation."

Not the first time

This marks the second time in two weeks that the Marine Rail Park has been damaged.

The town is still cleaning up after a camper got stuck last week in an area of newly created green space and had to be towed out.

"We've got quite alarge amount of significant damage there that we now need to work to repair," said McIsaac.

The park sits beside the Confederation Bridge. At the beginning of October, McIsaac told CBCthat improvements to the areawere coming.
