Sales from P.E.I. manufacturers held steady in April at a little more than $133 million, according to seasonally adjusted figures released this week by Statistics Canada.

That is virtually unchanged since March.

Manufacturing numbers on the Island are typically quite volatile from month to month. In the last year they have ranged from $131 million to $146 million, averaging $136 million.

Non-durable goods, such as food, are the most valuable manufactured products on the Island, making up 70 per cent of sales in April.
