The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission has overturned a decision by Charlottetown council to reject a zoning application to build condominiums next to the Belvedere Golf Club.

The order could see three six-unit condos built along the fourth hole of the golf course.

In a decision published on its web site, IRAC says the City of Charlottetown has been ordered to approve a rezoning application made by the developer, Hanmac Inc.

The application was to rezone the piece of property at 1 Greensview Drive from open space to medium residential. The City rejected the application on July 14, 2014.

In its order, IRAC says the city's decision has been reversed.

The land to be rezoned is currently vacant. (Google Street View)
