P.E.I.'s French language college has a new name to go along with its new location in Charlottetown.

As of Monday CollgeAcadie will be known as Collgede l'le.

College president Donald DesRoches hopes the name change will make the college an obvious choice for students who want to continue their education in French.

"We felt that Collge de l'le would even open that up," said DesRoches.

"So I'm in Grade 12 what do I do? Do I want to build on that capacity that I built over that period of time or do I want to go on to another institution in English?"

The college held an official opening Monday at its new location at 295 Kent St. in Charlottetown.
