Peas to party at Charlottetown Driving Park

Prince Edward Island has finally found a location to host the Black Eyed Peas on Labour Day weekend: the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Prince Edward Island has finally found a location to host the Black Eyed Peas on Labour Day weekend the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The CDP had been rumoured as a location for the concert for a couple of weeks, and it seems a change of heart by city council to endorse the site earlier this week finally settled the question.

The Blast at the Beach website announced the location early Thursday morning.

In addition to confirming the venue, the website announced the supporting acts for the Peas.

Coming to the stage before the Black Eyed Peas will be the Pussy Cat Dolls, the Philosopher Kings, Mobile and Stabilo.

The concert was originally scheduled for the Vista Bay campground in Alexandra.

Some residents expressed concern, however, that 20,000 hip-hop fans were too many for their 300-member community and the organizer began looking for a different venue.

The concert will begin at 1 p.m. onSept. 3.
