Christy Morgan started the page PEI Jobs two years ago, and it has now grown to more than 8,000 members.

It's now going to become the social media face of WorkPEI.

It was so popular, running the page was taking too much time for Morgan.

"Kind of beyond what one person can do on their own, and with other things I've been doing, like PEI Food Share and my own freelance work, and I have children as well, it was just becoming too big of a job," she explained.

She was looking for someone to take it over rather than have it disappear, and the province has the resources to keep it working well.

"I was concerned about making sure that the quality level was there and that the page was doing what people were signing up to see," said Morgan. "Seeing the jobs there that are as current as possible, and being the place to come for jobs on PEI."

A spokesperson adds the province is looking at an honorarium for Morgan for her workrunning the site.
