Trouble navigating the health care system? Help is a phone call away

If you're confused about where to turn in P.E.I.'s health care system, assistance should be a quick phone call away by the end of the summer.

If you're confused about where to turn in P.E.I.'s health care system, assistance should be a quick phone call away by the end of the summer.

Health PEI is creating a new patient navigator position to make it easier for patients to access services and move through the health care system. Islanders will be able to access the service through a toll-free number without a referral.

Health PEI already has patient navigators for cancer and stroke patients. The new navigator will assist patients with other issues.

Health PEI is also looking for volunteers to help provide advice on improving the quality of the health care service.

Seeking public feedback

Health PEI is also looking for volunteers to serve on groups that will provide advice on improving the quality of the health care service.

The advisors will be part of various quality improvement teams, and would be involved at all stages of new programs and services: from development to implementation, and through to evaluation.

Islanders can apply to be on an advisory team at Engage P.E.I.
